Case study
BKH Group
Homepage look-and-feel concept for a structural construction brand.
The brief
Requirements from the original project brief that shaped this homepage concept.
Requirements
- Position BKH as a leading vertically integrated structural construction solutions partner.
- Speak to tier one commercial, residential and infrastructure work.
- Emphasise safety, quality and long-standing experience on major construction programmes.
- Show strong in-house capability and Australia-wide delivery from NSW and QLD headquarters.
- Present services as tailored packages rather than long text blocks.
- Lead with projects and capabilities, bold imagery and skim-able copy.
- Similar animation as referenced on built.com.au (as of July 2026)
Design notes
About this piece
- Homepage look-and-feel concept only - not a finished site build, and not every brief requirement is covered here.
- Colour scheme and design notes controls are for this case study only and would not ship on a live build.
- Focus is a clear design direction for colour, typography and layout. Variants and further refinement are part of how this kind of work is explored.
Direction
- Lead with projects and capabilities, bold imagery and skim-able copy.
- Dark portfolio-led direction with brand purple and yellow - less white space than the existing live site.
- Dark theme chosen because it contrasts better with bold imagery and keeps content more readable. Mixed light/white sections against dark can also feel uneven.
- Brief pointed to Built for bold, project-led presentation, while also asking for less white space and clearer business storytelling than Built provides. Direction taken: Built's visual confidence with more service explanation.
- Same core messaging as the brief - tier one structural partner with in-house formwork, concrete and scaffold.
